Kilnahue Lane, on the outskirts of Gorey, where residents have concerns about planning for a major housing development.

Almost all residents on Kilnahue Lane, on the outskirts of Gorey, are expected to renew their objections to planning for 206 houses in the area, following a new submission to Wexford County Council for Planning Permission by Gerard Gannon Properties from Dublin.

Objections were raised against the original planning application for a 10 year residential development consisting of 206 dwellings and over 500 parking spaces on a 38-acre site adjacent to the Carnew Road and Kilnahue Lane.

The first application in June 2014 was declared void due to being placed out of view and set back on an agricultural gate as opposed to roadside on a post. Any objections against this plan are also declared void.

A new identical Planning Application notice was posted on July 23rd by Gerard Gannon Properties with plans for 206 houses and 500 parking spaces with one entrance from the Carnew road, and two exits onto Kilnahue Lane just above the Gaelscoil and Educate Together School.

Residents have plans to submit new objections and fight against the biggest development in North Wexford for a number of years.

Objections, or letters of concern, can be submitted to Wexford Planning Authority up until August 27th 2014. Plans can also be viewed online.
