GOVERNMENT CHIEF Whip Paul Kehoe became the first local TD to take the Ice Bucket Challenge while on a family holiday in windy Gaoth Dobhair in Donegal recently.
The Ice Bucket Challenge has raised over €1.4 million in Ireland for the Irish Motor Neuron Disease Association and the group has said that 25% of the donations will go towards clinical research into causes and treatments for Motor Neuron Disease.
An estimated half a million people have so far taken part in the challenge and government Chief Whip and Minister of State Paul Kehoe was the first local TD to face the freezing water last week.
And while it seems the best of Ireland’s summer is over, the conditions in Donegal were even more wintery with a howling wind and murky weather.
It was a cold canvas trip for the Minister who took four big buckets along with two smaller ones gleefully poured by his young kids Sinead and Eoghan.
