Wexford County Council’s Cycling Officer is helping to promote an awareness of cyclists and educate motorists on why cyclists navigate in a certain way when using the roads in County Wexford.

A film company along with a group of cyclists will be using a section of the R744, Enniscorthy to Blackwater Road, to produce a few short videos highlighting the safe passing distance for vehicles while overtaking cyclists.

It is also supporting a campaign ran by Phil Skelton here in Wexford called the “Saying alive at 1.5”.

To facilitate the making of the video the R744 between Rectory Road to Finchogue will be closed to traffic on Saturday September 13th from 7 am until 6 pm.

Detours are as follows;

On route between Blackwater-Oulart-the-Ballagh – Enniscorthy, HGV vehicles detour via Ballymurn.

Lighter vehicles diverted via Ballycourcy and Drumgoold.
