Disruptions are expected in Gorey for a public protest march against water charges taking place in the town next Saturday and another is planned for November 1 to coincide with the national day of protest.
Saturday’s march will start at the entrance of the Ashdown Park Hotel, travel through Esmonde Street and the Main Street to the ’98 monument at McCurtain Street and return back to the starting point.
“This march is not being organised by any political group although all groups are welcome to attend and show solidarity, this march is for the people of North Wexford and surrounding areas to come together as a community to show resistance against the Water Charges,” said a spokesperson for the organisers.
People are invited to participate and bring flags, banners, whistles, high viz jackets.
