The Irish Cattle and Sheep Farmer's Association is to meet with representatives from Meat Industry Ireland today as part of negotiations arising from the beef round-table discussions.
It comes as a 48-hour protest by farmers over meat prices continues at factories across the country this morning.
The IFA says farmers are being paid less for beef than their UK counterparts.
The Meat Industry has condemned the protest action, saying significant progress had been made during the discussions last week.
Farmers say agreement has yet to be reached on the main issue which is price.
One farmers said: "The factories, they are in control of the price that they give to farmers, and it is in their interest to give us a good price.
"We need to stay in business and we need to keep producing beef here in Ireland."
