A SEARCH was ongoing yesterday for a young man from New Ross who has been missing since the early hours of Saturday morning.

Paul Davey (21) was last seen in Conduit Lane, at the Rag Pub, at around 2.10 a.m. Gardai began coordinating a search throughout the weekend and that is continuing this week.

A number of lines of enquiry are being investigated and searches have been taking place of the river Barrow involving New Ross River Rescue.

Mr. Davey is described as being 5’ 10’’ in height, is of average build, and has sandy coloured hair and green eyes.

When last seen he was wearing blue jeans, and Iron Maiden t-shirt, black fitted jumper and black shoes.

A spokesperson for New Ross Gardai acknowledged the role of New Ross River Rescue and Mr. Davey’s relatives in helping with the search.

“There have been active searches of the river Barrow and we are also examining other areas,” said the spokesperson.

“It’s an ongoing search and other avenues are being explored,” he added.
