A woman in her ‘thirties who suffered suspected neck and spinal injuries when she fell from a horse at Clone, Castletown, this afternoon, was airlifted by Rescue 117 to Waterford General Hospital.

The incident occurred at around 2 p.m. when the emergency services were alerted, but access by ambulance proved to be challenging.

The helicopter arrived at 4.45 p.m. and safely transported the injured woman, who was conscious, to Waterford Regional Hospital for further investigative health care.

Her condition is described as stable.
