A SINGER from the New Ross district will be representing Wexford on the RTE talent show, ‘The Voice’, next weekend.
Helena Bradley Bates will appear on the programme on Sunday, January 11, when she will be hoping to win over the judges and make it through to the live stage of the competition.
This weekend’s performance will see the extremely talented singer competing in the blind audition phase of the contest.
Originally from Newbawn and with strong family ties in the Tullycanna area of Ballymitty Helena is one of the most talented singers this county has ever produced.
Well known all over Wexford through her various performances in pubs and hotels along with her appearances at events like Singing Pubs competitions she has an enviable reputation for the quality of her singing.
With that in mind she stands a very good chance of making it through the blind auditions but whether that happens or not remains to be seen.
Music is something that comes naturally to Helena, however, as her late mother, Margaret was renowned as a singer throughout the county and her uncle, John, has also been involved in the music scene for many years.
Whatever the outcome her appearance on the programme is sure to mean that the eyes of the county will be firmly fixed on the TV on Sunday.
