Following the worst ever week for crime in the Courtown district Gardaí yesterday (Monday) launched ‘Operation Lynchpin’ with extra resources and manpower aimed at reducing the spate of burglaries across the region.

There will be a big increase in the number of ‘stop and search’ checkpoints taking place.

Over the past week 19 burglaries were reported in the Courtown area, mostly at unoccupied mobile homes and caravans.

Gardaí are asking the public to help them with their enquires in relation to burglaries and other matters and can contact Gorey Garda Station on 053 9430690 or use the Garda Confidential number 1800 666 111.
