A TEENAGER that was arrested in relation to a recent fatal road collision outside Enniscorthy was released without charge over the weekend.
Gardai in Enniscorthy investigating a two vehicle fatal road traffic collision that occurred on the N11 at Ballylough, Ferns on January 12 arrested the 16-year-old, who cannot be named for legal reasons, on Friday in relation to the incident.
The teenager from Wicklow was detained under the provisions of section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act 1984 as amended.
He was released without charge on Sunday and a file is being prepared for the DPP.
Furthermore, the 16-year-old appeared before Wexford District Court yesterday (Monday) on foot of a bench warrant which was issued at a previous sitting of Wicklow District court.
It came about after he failed to turn up for a court appearance there in respect of outstanding charges and was not related to the fatal road collision in Ferns.
