A LOCAL student proved to be the biggest hit at a music gig in Thailand after a girl he was photographed with began a social media campaign in the hope of tracking him down.
21-year-old David Atkinson from Wexford town was in Thailand visiting his brother James last month when he attended a gig by The 1975 in Bangkok and took to photo-bombing people’s selfie photographs while there.
However, one local girl took a particular shine to the Wexford man, who is well-known on the theatre and performing arts scene, and took to social media with the photograph of herself with David and seeking to track him down.
The photo appeared on the Bangkok Expats page on Facebook and has garnered a lot of traffic in Thailand.
“This girl put up on her blog that she was looking for the ‘love of her life’! I said about three words to her, took the picture and that was it. The next thing I know, James messages me at 5 a.m. at the weekend to tell me that I’m famous in Thailand!”
