THERE WAS a further boost for Rosslare Europort at the weekend when it was announced that another cruise ship is to dock in the port in July 2016.
The news follows on the heels of the announcement of the arrival of the MS Albatros which will be in Rosslare in August 2015.
The MS Braemar, which will host 929 guests, is including Rosslare as part of its Britain and Ireland cruise and will be the second cruise ship to land in Rosslare for over 20 years.
Both visits come on the back of the establishment of a working group led by the General Manager of Rosslare Europort, John Lynch along with a group of representatives from Wexford Co. Council and Fáilte Ireland.
The group has been targeting further expansion of the cruise ship business at the port.
Mr. Lynch said: “We are delighted to welcome the MS Braemar to Rosslare in 2016, as well as the MS Albatros to Rosslare this summer. We are fortunate at Rosslare that not only do we have the capacity to operate as a busy commercial port, but we are also situated in an area of outstanding natural beauty and rich cultural heritage and I believe that there will be many more Cruise Ships that will want to explore the wonders of Wexford and the South East.”
