Larry and Tiernan Byrne are no strangers to the golf scene, having run St. Helen’s Golf Course for many years but they have now switched their sights to the ever expanding market of tailor-made golf holidays with a particular focus on attracting British tourists to the East and South-East of the country.
The duo recently returned from the UK where the 2015 programme was launched at the prestigious Mere Golf Resort and Spa in Cheshire, Manchester. Once home, they were congratulated by An Taoiseach and Niall Gibbons, Chief Executive of Tourism Ireland, for attracting the lucrative golfing market to Ireland and its contribution to tourism.
Club Choice Ireland is an alliance of some of the best hotels, resorts and golf clubs in the east and south east of Ireland.
Managing Director of Club Choice Ireland, Tiernan Byrne said: “Recent surveys show that golf visitors to Ireland are one of the highest spending demographics. Based on average figures, we can see that our golfers collectively spent close to half a million euro whilst in Ireland.”
