THE FAMILY of a 47-year-old woman who committed suicide days after a gruelling ordeal to seek mental health services has spoken out against the treatment she received saying they believed she had been let down by a broken system.

Mother-of-two Jeanne Marie Creane of 73 Cromwellsfort Avenue passed away on December 8, 2014 after attempting to seek help in Wexford General and Waterford Regional Hospitals.

In a letter penned to her family before her passing, she outlined the shocking ordeal she experienced while trying to engage with the mental health services.

Her family has expressed their dismay at the treatment of their mother and hope that her story will raise awareness of deficiencies in the mental health system.
