A FIVE star Enniscorthy hotel and spa had to be evacuated due a fire raging within the building.

Fire services battled the fire at about 9p.m. on Friday, remaining there for well over an hour.

It is believed that a radio caused the fire, within a consultation room in the spa.

Noone was injured, but the consultation room was badly damaged by the fire.

A spokesperson for Wexford fire services, said, that this fire was probably caused by the ‘rare’ event of a radio.

The spokesperson urged people not to overload electrical equipment. People are also being encouraged to maintain fire alarms up to safety regulations, especially within large premises
