The scene of a road traffic accident at Mill Park Road, Enniscorthy, today.

An elderly woman is recovering from shoulder and leg injuries after being knocked down while crossing the street at Enniscorthy today.

The incident occurred just before mid-day outside Super Valu on the Mill Park Road.

It is understood that the woman was crossing the street on her way into the supermarket when she was struck by a D registered people carrier driven by a male who had seven young children as passengers.

The driver and passers-by attended to the injured woman, who was conscious, at the scene while awaiting transfer to Wexford General Hospital by ambulance.
