THE APEX swimming pool and leisure complex in New Ross will re-open its doors to the public on Wednesday, April 29.
The date was revealed by Area Manager, Sinead Casey, at Tuesday’s monthly meeting of New Ross Municipal District Council.
Welcoming the date Area Director, Eamonn Hore, said it will be “very good for the town” to have the facility opened once again.
It was forced to close following extensive damage during violent storms that hit the country early last year.
The news of the reopening date was greeted enthusiastically by the elected members on Tuesday and Mr. Hore added: “It’s completely renovated and looks fantastic.”
Cllr. Anthony Connick asked if there will be an official opening ceremony and in response Mr. Hore said such a ceremony will take place but no date has been scheduled yet.
Cllr. Willie Fitzharris complimented everyone involved with the facility and welcomed the news that a reopening date had been finalised.
His sentiments were echoed by Cllr. Michael Sheehan. He also asked if corporate packages will be available for groups or businesses.
Ms. Casey said such packages will be available.
The cost of single membership for three months will be €175 (single swim and gym) and €275 for six months.
The price for a couple joining for three months will be €325 (swim and gym) and €475 for six months while family membership (two adults and two children) will be €375 (three months) and €500 (six months).
