Funeral arrangements have been announced for Fr Walter Forde, (72), parish priest of Castlebridge since 1996, who died at his residence in Gorey, last Saturday.

Fr Walter will be reposing in St. Michael’s Church, Gorey, on Tuesday from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m.

Funeral arriving to St. Ibar’s Church, Castlebridge, on Wednesday for reception prayers at 3 p.m. and reposing thereafter  until 7.30 p.m. Mass of Thanksgiving at 8 p.m.

Concelebrated Funeral Mass on Thursday at 11 a.m. and burial afterwards in the adjoining cemetery.

He was founder and Chairman of the Byrne Perry Summer School and was busy preparing for the 2015 event which takes place in Gorey at the end of this month.

He was a native of Bunclody and was ordained at Maynooth College on August 16, 1968.
