A MAJOR NATIONAL retail store will soon be opening in Enniscorthy at the same time that an international company is showing significant interest in the town.
Vacant buildings at Market Square will soon be transformed into what local estate agent, Michael J.O’Leary has described as ‘one of the finest retail units in town.’
Dealz will soon be opening at Market Square where currently two vacant buildings are standing.
The developers for the new Dealz stores is LHM Property Holders Ltd, and it is anticipated that at least 20 jobs will be created at the 4,500 sqft building.
Dealz has shops throughout the country selling a wide range of products at low-cost prices.
Speaking to The Echo, Mr O’Leary said it is likely that some construction work will have to be carried out, before the building is fit for purpose.
He welcomed the announcement that Dealz has signed the lease as the building has been vacant for the past three years.
LHM was the driving force behind the Main Street premises in Wexford town now occupied by Dealz and the nearby Costa Coffee. There is also a Dealz store in Gorey.
Meanwhile outgoing Enniscorthy Chamber President Michael Bennett has announced that there are concrete plans to develop a factory on the outskirts of Enniscorthy.
It is anticipated that the multi-functional factory and office block will create about 30 jobs for the town.
Mr Bennett confirmed that that the international company is showing great interest in the town with representatives visiting Enniscorthy on five occassions recently. However, he did not disclose the name of the company.
He added that the international company has the potential to create several jobs.
