Kelly roche

FOR THE second time in just over a week, the Rosslare road was closed to traffic following a two-car collision which claimed the life of 25-year-old mother-of-one Kelly Roche.

The young mother was seriously injured as a result of the collision which happened at around 12:25 p.m. on the N25 at Kilmacree on Sunday. She was brought to Wexford General Hospital but was pronounced dead a short time later. The two occupants of the other car were seriously injured and also brought to hospital.

The road was closed off to facilitate a Garda Forensic Collision Examination and remained closed until around 6 p.m.

Gardai are appealing for witnesses to the collision to contact them on 053 91 65200, the Garda Confidential Line on 1800 666 111 or through any garda station.

Described as a bright, enthusiastic young girl, Ms. Roche had been interested in and was studying beauty therapy and hairdressing and had loved that area of work. She was a very popular girl with a large circle of friends and was known as the ‘Queen of the Selfie’ on Facebook.

The tragedy has caused huge shock and heartbreak in the tight-knit community in Liam Mellows where the family has lived for many years.

Friends of the young mother took to social media to express their grief on Ms. Roche’s page. One friend remarked that Ms. Roche was a “young life taken too soon”, referring to her as the “brightest star in the sky” and offering their thoughts and prayers to her and her family.

Another remarked that their thoughts and prayers went out to Ms. Roche’s family and friends and especially “your little boy who I know you loved to bits.”

Ms. Roche is survived by her beloved son Tyler, her parents, Brian Boyle and Debbie Roche, grandparents: Pascal Snr. and Frances Roche, Junior Boyle and Bernie; Tony Wright, her siblings Ciara and Ryan, aunts, uncles, cousins, relatives, extended family and many friends.

Funeral arrangements are as follows: reposing at Macken’s Funeral from 2 to 8 p.m. today (Tuesday) with removal on Wednesday morning to Clonard Church for funeral mass at noon.

The Echo extends its sympathy to the bereaved.
