A PLANNING application lodged by Nutricia Infant Nutrition Ltd. (Danone) for the expansion of their plant at Roxborough, Maudlintown has raised hopes that there will be further jobs created in the business in the future.
The application comes just seven months after the official opening of a €26m production line in November 2014 which saw the creation of 50 new jobs and it is understood that this proposed development is of a similar nature.
The company has sought permission for an extension to its existing production building which will consist of an extended packing facility at ground floor and tower levels, and a plant room at first floor level.
There is also plans for the provision of administration and personnel facilities (including offices, toilets and changing areas) at second and third floor levels over the existing building and second and third floor levels of a new building with two external stair cores allowing access.
Permission is also sought for a relocated loading bay to the dispatch area, an external corridor, corporate signage, three additional loading bays, an extended canopy to the intake area and for all associated site development works and drainage.
