The Late Noel Swaine, London and Wexford.
All saints Church, Ballycarney, was overflowing for the Thanksgiving Service for the life of Noel Swaine today, where the congregation heard Very Rev. Leslie Forrest of Ferns describe the Life-President President of the London-Wexford Association as “the best known Irishman in London.”
Mr Swaine, (80), who passed away at his London residence on June 2, was repatriated for burial at Ballycarney, where he grew up before settling in London at the age of 21 in 1956.
A native of Tincurry, Ferns, he worked as a carpenter on many projects in the City of London.
He participated in all the London Wexford Association activities over the years; be it fundraising or social activities he was always there to lend a hand.
Mr Swaine was described as “a true friend always there when needed” and “a man of action, and very generous with his time and efforts in all he did.”
Deepest sympathy is extended to his brothers, George and Mervyn, his sister Betty, nieces, nephews and family members.
“The day thou gavest Lord, is ended.”
