A YOUNG Ballycanew lady who is building a busy career for herself in the world of modelling and likes to entertain with a song or two is facing the biggest challenge of her career so far when she appears as a finalist in this year’s Miss Ireland competition.
Colleen O’Reilly, (22), spent four years in college in Dublin and recently she became Miss Dublin West, representing the area where she lived, and qualified for the Miss Ireland final on August 28 in the Crowne Plaza Hotel, near Dublin Airport.
Colleen is now back home living with her family at Ballycanew having graduated from DIT two weeks ago with a BA in music and she hopes to study for a masters in music psychology.
Collen is attached to the Fraser Model Agency in Dublin and is busy travelling around the country taking in shows, participating in photo-shoots and she is taking it all in her stride.
“I love modelling,” said Colleen, who is the face of Discover Ireland and appears regularly, maybe a few times a week, on Xposé on TV3. “I once had my face on the back of a bus. That was weird,” laughs Colleen.
