As yet the cause is of death is unknown but it is believed that Beth Frayne, in her 70s may have suffered from a sudden fatal illness while driving at Knockmore, on the main Caim to Courtnacuddy road at about 9.45a.m on Saturday last. Ms Furlong said: “She was highly involved in the development of getting the Lotto up and running at Courtnacuddy GAA. In latter years, her grandchildren became the focus of her life. She lived her life by the seasons and loved country life and the outdoors. She was a great cook and also loved to stitch and mend, paint, varnish and sand, whatever needed to be done, she would offer her help.”
The late Ms Frayne was a devout Catholic and was an active member of the church choir. Additionally she enjoyed playing cards with her friends.
Ms Furlong said: “She was always willing to help any person in the community from the old to the young. Nobody can believe that she is gone, everybody will miss her. She had a great energy and was very happy in herself.”
