An elderly woman has died after her car was in collision with a truck at Ballyloughan, Arklow Road, north of Gorey.

Emergency services rushed to the scene at 3.20 p.m. and the sole occupant of the car was pronounced death at the scene.

The road is closed to facilitate an examination of the scene by the Garda Forensic Collision Investigators.

Diversions are in place.
