The first Dealz store in Wexford, situated on South Main Street, has already proved very popular with Wexford shoppers and the addition of the new store with ample parking is sure to prove even more of a draw for those looking to bag themselves a bargain across a vast range of products.
Meanwhile, those with a passion for the great outdoors will be delighted to see the arrival of Mountain Warehouse as part of the company’s expansion across Ireland. The new store has provided a total of two full time and six part-time roles and the company will continue to examine staffing requirements as time goes on.
Area Manager, Briege Redhead said “We’re very excited to be opening our first store in Ireland for nearly 4 years. There are not many more beautiful places in the world to explore than Ireland, and for those adventures we provide everything from hard-wearing footwear, to waterproof jackets for the entire family as well as camping and picnic accessories.”
Among the products stocked at the store are camping, walking, cycling and running equipment and clothing, as well as their “extreme” range for the more adventurous.
The new stores have been warmly welcomed from both the business community and the general public in Wexford as they create more jobs and provide shoppers with more options. The latest store openings come just over a month after TK Maxx officially opened its doors on Paul Quay creating somewhere in the region of 40 jobs.
In a possible continuation of store openings, it has also been rumoured that American ice-cream chain Baskin Robbins are looking at locations in Wexford as they plan to open five shops across the country, expanding their brand into Ireland.

It appears that although Wexford may not have fully emerged from recession, we are seeing some green shoots and somewhat of a renaissance of retailers within the town.
