THERE HAS been widespread outrage at the news that Ireland’s Head Boxing Coach Billy Walsh looks set for a move to the U.S.

Reports have stated that Walsh, one of the country’s most successful international and Olympic coaches, is set to make the move after requests made by the Wexford man to the Irish Amateur Boxing Association were reportedly all dismissed.

This is not the first time that Walsh’s position with the Irish boxing scene has been discussed. There was criticism, following the successful 2012 Olympics, that the prominent coach was not offered a new contract straightaway.
