TICKETS FOR the second screening of Brooklyn which will take place in The Riverside Park Hotel on October 28 will officially go on sale tomorrow (Wednesday) at 10 a.m. from hotel reception.
After tickets for the black-tie premiere sold out in minutes, with some people starting to queue from around 4.30 a.m., District Manager Pádraig O’Gorman opened negotiations with film distributors Lionsgate UK for a second screening. The second screening was officially confirmed last week and will take place at 11 p.m. on the same evening as the premiere.
RTE’s Nationwide team will also be present at the hotel tomorrow morning to record the anticipated scramble for tickets as part of a special programme that will surround the making of the film. Producer and Enniscorthy native Helen McInerney and her Nationwide team will visit a number of locations in Enniscorthy where scenes for Brooklyn were filmed last year and she will also interview some of the films extras on their opinions and recollections of what it was like to participate in the making of a movie hotly tipped for Oscar success.
Among those who have confirmed their attendance at the premiere are actress Saoirse Ronan, Enniscorthy’s own Colm Toibin and Ministers Heather Humphreys, Brendan Howlin and Paul Kehoe.
Tickets for the second screeing will be sold on a first-come-first-served basis and those intending on purchasing tickets are advised to get to the hotel early. Tickets are priced at €20. Brooklyn will go on general release on November 6.
