THE CLOSING concert at this year’s New Ross Piano Festival, whether by chance or design, summed up the overall mood of the event to perfection.

The concert featured the Fidelio Trio, Alexei Grynyuk and the duo of Finghin Collins and Cedric Tiberghien.

With works ranging from Beethoven and Stavinsky to Brahms it was a fantastic way to end what was an incredible weekend of music.

The closing concert also featured the Ros Tapestry Suite X: ‘Hunt in the Forest of Ros’, by Andrew Hamilton.

The organisers of the festival ensured that this year’s 10th anniversary event would be one of the best ever and they didn’t disappoint.

The level of musicianship throughout the weekend was astounding to witness and significance of the fact that the festival is now firmly established on the European circuit cannot be overstated.

All-in-all it was a weekend of mesmerising music and everyone involved should feel justifiably proud of what they have achieved over the last 10 years.
