RTÉ Radio 1 has announced that the winner of the Francis MacManus Short Story Competition 2015 is Eleanor O’Reilly for her story ‘Stoppin’ the Silence’. 

Eleanor O’Reilly from Arklow is a teacher of English and Classical Studies at Gorey Community School.

The winning story will be broadcast tonight (Monday), October 5, at 11.10 p.m. on RTE Radio 1.

Previous winners include Claire Keegan, Ciarán Folan, Ivy Bannister, Nuala Ní Chonchúir and Martin Malone.
