There was no surprise at tonight’s Fianna Fail General Election Selection Convention held before a packed ballroom in Riverside Park Hotel, Enniscorthy, where Cllr James Browne and Cllr Malcolm Byrne were selected.
They will contest the next General Election in the Wexford Constituency whenever it is called by An Taoiseach.
Both councillors promised to win two seats for the Party.
Timmy Dooley, T.D., was chairman for the convention.
Cllr John Browne, who served the Party in Dáil Éireann for 33 years and was elected eight times, congratulated Cllrs Browne and Byrne and thanked everybody who voted for him and supported him down the years.
