The occupation of a show-home in Clongriffin in North county Dublin is taking place tonight.

Up to 20 protesters have taken over a house in the Beltree estate to highlight the lack of social housing in the city.

Anti Austerity Alliance Cllr Michael O’Brien is taking part.

He says the Government needs to get serious about tackling the homelessness crisis.

"Well the message is for the government and first and foremost that they are not serious about addressing the housing crisis, there was nothing in the budget last week to do with the housing crisis.

"It's getting worse by the week in terms of homelessness, overcrowding and the lengthening of the housing waiting lists."
