David Drumm has had his detention hearing delayed for a second time by a US court.

The former Anglo Irish Bank chief will remain in custody until the new hearing date on November 13.

He faces extradition from the US to Ireland, where he is wanted on 33 counts related to his time at Anglo from 2007 to 2008.

Reporter in Boston Joe Stohlman said Mr Drumm's attorney told Massachusetts District Court he needed more time to work with his new legal team.

"(They) told the District Court his new legal team needed more time to obtain and develop salient information and get additional details and counsel from Ireland," he said.

"The judge said any further delays would definitely need to be for a good cause.

"Drumm's lawyers plan to fight extradition when the case comes to court, claiming their client has been targeted for political reasons."
