Today the shortlist for International Rugby Players Association’s (IRPA) Try of the Year was announced.
New Zealand winger Julian Savea has two tries on the shortlist with the other try-scorers being French prop Vincent Debaty, Welsh flanker Justin Tipuric, Tonga winger Fetu’u Vainikolo and Japan full-back Ayumu Goromaru.

The closest Ireland comes to the list this year is as the opposing team for Tipuric’s nominated try, scored during the the Rugby World Cup warm-up game in August.
Debaty’s try is another from the RBS Six Nations, scored in France’s game against England.
Savea’s two tries come from New Zealand’s World Cup quarter final game against France while Goromaru’s try is from Japan’s win over South Africa.
Vainikolo’s try comes from the Pacific Nations Cup in July when Tonga’s played the USA.
