Two men have appeared in court in Dublin, charged in connection with a multi-million euro drugs seizure in the capital last Wednesday.
Gardai from the Drugs and Organised Crime Bureau stopped a vehicle on the Greenhills Rd in Talalght on Wednesday night containing €2.8m worth of drugs and a significant weapons haul.
Joseph Hickey of Ulster Street in Phibsboro and Pat Burnell of Kiltalown Road in Tallaght appeared in court this morning, each charged with four offences under the Drug Trafficking Act.

The men, aged 41 and 34 respectively were charged with possession of heroin and cocaine and possession of the drugs with intent to sell or supply.
No application for bail was made for Mr Hickey. He has been remanded in custody to appear in Cloverhill District Court next Wednesday.
Mr Burnell was remanded in custody with consent to bail, subject to strict conditions.
Judge John Coughlan set bail of €30,000 euro, on strict conditions.
Mr Burnell must put forward €20,000 himself, and his father has offered €10,000 as an independent surety, subject to approval of the court.
Mr Burnell, a father of two young children, is required to surrender his passport, reside at his usual address, sign on once a week at Tallaght Garda Station and provide gardaí with his mobile phone number.
He has been remanded in custody with consent to bail to Cloverhill District Court next Friday.
