Two separate seizures led to the confiscation of more than €1.1m worth of drugs in Dublin yesterday.

A planned search of a premises in Irishtown led to the discovery of heroin, cocaine and cannabis herb, valued at €880,000, pending analysis.

The search was carried out at 4pm by Gardaí from the Drugs & organised Crime Bureau, assisted by Gardaí from the Donnybrook District Drugs Unit.

A man and women, both 29 years, were arrested and are currently detained under the provisions of Section 2 of the Criminal Justice (Drug Trafficking) Act, 1996 at Irishtown Garda Station.

Cannabis to the value of €300,000, pending analysis, was also seized in Dublin yesterday.

The seizure took place near Finglas, at 1pm.

The drugs were found when Gardaí from the Drugs & organised Crime Bureau stopped and searched two cars on the N2 in the Finglas area.

Two males aged 40 and 49 years, were arrested at scene and are currently detained under the provisions of Section 2 of the Criminal Justice (Drug Trafficking) Act, 1996 at Finglas Garda Station.
