THIS YEAR’S Wexford Winterland was officially launched with the flick of a switch at a ceremony in the Bullring last Thursday.
Following on from the success of last year’s festival, the 2016 programme features many of the attractions that debuted last Christmas. These include; Wexford on Ice, Christmas Outdoor Movies and Santa’s Train.
The Wexford Retail Committee will be providing and paying for the maintenance, erection and dismantling of kilometers of beautiful festive lights.
Two Christmas trees will be provided, one in the Bull Ring and the other in Redmond Square and piped music will echo the sound of Christmas all along the Main Street.
Wexford Retail Committee are also responsible for a magnificent parade which will start in the Selskar Square at 5pm on Saturday, 28th November.
The parade will proceed along the Main Street, down Anne Street and out on to the quay.  Special guests this year will include Scrooge and Bosco and Santa will join them on stage on the quayside to switch on the Christmas lights.
New to Wexford Winterland this Christmas is the Santa Train where children will enjoy a tour of Wexford while listening to stories from Santa.
