The Fianna Fáil leader Micheál Martin has said party-political interests seem to be interfering with the report of the Oireachtas Banking Inquiry.
Today members of the inquiry are meeting to view a draft report.
The final report is due to be published on January 20.
According to The Irish Times, the work of the inquiry could be on the verge of collapse, as the 11 TDs involved could refuse to sign off on the draft report.
Fianna Fáil's Micheál Martin has said any report published should be objective: “In my view there should be an independent objective approach to this and the fact that there seems to be a party political approach being adopted by some now if we are to believe reports is unacceptable.
“I think if an objective report is there we want to see that objectivity right through, I haven’t been involved, good, bad or indifferent in terms of the conduct of the inquiry, we’ve left it to the members of the inquiry team and I think it is disturbing to see this scenario unfolding.”
