Two men have been arrested in Dublin in connection with burglaries related offences.

The men, aged 28 and 30, were taken into custody after Gardaí stopped and searched a car and its two male occupants on the north of the city yesterday afternoon.

Gardaí have said a number of items were recovered in this search, which may be used in the course of or in connection with theft or burglary.

Gardaí say further planned searches of premises in the Dublin 6 and Dublin 8 areas, Gardaí recovered a number of sophisticated articles which again may be used to assist in the course of or in connection with theft and burglary.

The two men were taken to Store Street Garda station for questioning where they can be held for up to 24 hours.
