Five men are due in court in Tullamore after Gardaí recovered suspected stolen property during a series of checkpoints in Co Offaly yesterday.

Clothing and footwear estimated to be worth over €1,000 was recovered.

The occupants of a car, 3 men and 2 women in their 20s, were arrested and detained under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act.

The car was impounded under the Finance Act.

The checkpoints were mounted as part of Operation Trivium targeting criminal activity in the midlands.
