The Creagh water mains rehabilitation works in Gorey has been completed and the project has significantly reduced leakage and resulted in a saving of approximately 13% of the total water produced at the Creagh Water Treatment Plant.

A spokesperson for Irish Water told The Echo that it has replaced over 500m of existing twin pipelines in the Creagh area of Gorey which has resulted in a significant saving of over 240 cubic meters per day of treated water.

The pipelines from the Creagh Water Treatment Plant were replaced along the Hollyfort Road towards Gorey town.

Irish Water invested approximately €193,000 in the water mains rehabilitation works which were completed in early December 2015.
