Irish Water says 61% of its customers have now paid part, or all, of their bills.
The company has confirmed 928,000 customers were paying water charges at the end of the third billing cycle, which covers the final three months of last year.
This compares with 55% at the end of the second cycle and 44% at the end of the first period.
To date, the total revenue from charges paid by domestic customers stands at more than €110m.
Florence White, Ervia’s head of media relations, says the figures show a sustained increase in payment levels.
Ms White said: “61% of Irish Water customers, that’s 928,000 customers, have paid all or part of their bills and that’s an increase of 98,000 customers over the last billing cycle.
“I suppose the important thing to think about is the revenue from those customers who are paying, and we have in excess of €110m in revenue today.
“So customers have paid all of their bills and other have paid part of their bills, but the important thing to note is we have €110m in revenue.”
