FIVE LOCAL health, food and fitness experts have joined forces to initiate the #Kickstart16 programme which aims to keep people on the straight and narrow in getting healthy for the New Year.

The most popular New Year’s resolutions tend to relate to physical and emotional wellbeing with people joining gyms, eating healthily or trying to lose weight. But while the year begins with the best of intentions, the willpower fades fast!

A spokesperson for the programme said: “#Kickstart16 is about a way of life, it’s about adapting a healthier approach to food and exercise all year round.”

To that end, Joyce’s Expert Wexford has teamed up with four other industry experts to create a five-day plan to kick-start the New Year. They are working with: Westgate Design; Nichola Forrest, Nutritional Therapist from Only Natural; Olly Gogarty, Fitness Instructor; and Belinda Kehoe from Wexford Skin Clinic. Together, they will provide followers of the programme with breakfast recipes, lunch suggestions, dinner recipes, exercise videos and nutritional information.

The organisers stress that the programme is not about deprivation, unrealistic work loads or superficial appearances but a genuine opportunity to do something life-changing by following a few steps based on common sense.

#Kickstart16 begins on Monday, January 25. For more information, tune into South East Radio at 11:30 a.m. each morning. Recipes, nutritional information and videos will be on www.joyces.ie and all participating experts’ websites, as well as Twitter and Facebook.
