Reports suggest Leinster’s Marty Moore sustained a hamstring tear at the weekend and as a result will play no part in this year’s Six Nations Championship.

The tighthead prop was named in Joe Schmidt’s 35-man squad for the tournament last week, before lining out for Leinster against Wasps on Saturday.

The Irish province were defeated 51-10 in the game and Moore picked up an injury that has now been assessed as a grade two hamstring tear - requiring six-eight weeks recuperation time.

His was not the only injury worry for Ireland after the game, outhalf Jonny Sexton is also a doubt after he left the field with a head injury.
