A man is missing off the coast of Kerry tonight.

He and another man were aboard a kayak off Templenore when the vessel capsized.

The second man brought himself ashore on an island and is receiving treatment for hypothermia.

It is understood the men had been out hunting on the island for the day.

The search for the missing man will resume at first light, with several units of the Coastguard and the Shannon Rescue 115 helicopter all involved.
