Motorists are being urged to watch out for fallen trees and debris on roads tonight as wind speeds are picking up around the country.

Storm Henry is making landfall over the next 24 hours and is bringing winds of up to 110 kilometers per hour with it.

An orange warning is in place for Donegal, Galway, Leitrim, Mayo, Sligo, Clare, Cork, Kerry and Limerick from 10 o'clock tonight.

Forecaster with Met Éireann Harm Luijkx has said though it should not cause too much bother: “It is quite comparable to the last few storms, we have in that it is very windy and it could give some damage.

“But it is not exceptional so do take care when you go on the roads and watch out for branches of trees that might be blowing off.

“Especially in the north, it could be very windy.”
