Six jobs have been lost at the Gorey branch of Xtra-vision after Hilco Capital, the parent company, placed 83 stores nationwide into provisional liquidation with the loss of 580 jobs, following a High Court hearing last Tuesday.

Susan Gleeson, manager at the Gorey Store where she had been employed for nine years, said the staff had been informed on November 20 that the shop would stop trading on December 31.

The public were informed of a closing down sale, however the actual date was uncertain. The store closed for the final time  last Tuesday.
