THERE WAS good news for employees at Lodgewood Engineering in Ferns last week as it was announced that the company had emeged from examinership.

An interim examiner was appointed to the steel fabrication and garden machinery company in September of last year, with the aim of allowing management to put a scheme in place with creditors to allow them to survive as a going concern.

Last week in the High Court in Dublin, a scheme was officially approved to allow the company to continue trading as one of the leading engineering companies in the South East.

Managing Director of Lodgewood Engineering, Mr William Plummer said that a total of 18 jobs had been saved upon the company’s emergence from examinership and that they are confident that they are confident that they can now move on and grow the business, creating more employment in the area.

I would like to thank our suppliers, loyal employees, customers, friends, our investors Irish Sea Contractors and the Examiners Hughes Blake for their support in recent weeks,” he said. “With a strong order book in place for 2016 we hope to grow the business again and increase employment in Ferns over the course of this year.”
