RTÉ is set to lodge a formal complaint with An Garda Siochána after one of its cameramen was injured in chaotic scenes in Dublin yesterday.

The organisers of a rally on O'Connell street have distanced themselves from violence that broke out on the fringes of the protest.

It had been organised as a counter demonstration against the launch of anti-Islam group Pegida.

At least two people were hospitalised following the disturbances - when Gardai clashed with a group of anti-racism protesters.
