David Drumm is expected to tell a US court later that he wants to return to Ireland.

The former Anglo Irish Bank boss will appear before a judge in Boston today.

He will not fight his extradition from the States, but he wants the Director of Public Prosecutions to grant him bail on his return to Ireland.

Mr Drumm is facing 33 criminal charges in this country relating to the collapse of Anglo Irish Bank.

He has also offered to stick to strict bail conditions while he awaits trial.

Mr Drumm's trial involves a large number of documents and he feels if the trial is to be fait, that he needs access to his lawyers and the documents. Something which would be impossible if he was detained while awaiting his trial.
